Time-Saving Recipe: Matcha Latte

As you already know, I love health hacks that help me perform at optimum levels. What I tend to shy away from though are things that take a long time to prepare. Since becoming pregnant in January, I’ve been replacing my beloved coffee with green tea matcha lattes. The health benefits of matcha are pretty miraculous! Matcha has half the caffeine content of coffee, contains fiber and L-Theanine, an amino acid which helps the body process caffeine without the “crash” that most people feel come mid-morning or after eating lunch. L-Theanine also improves focus and helps you concentrate. You can read more about the benefits of matcha vs coffee here.

It’s hard to find a fast cafe offering sugar-free matcha. Most chain stores make their lattes with a powdered mixture that contains sugar and other unhealthy ingredients so please read the ingredient labels! I’ve found the results from my home made lattes to be way more powerful than anything store bought.

Soon, you’ll be saying, “Coffee who?”

Read how I make it below!

ingredients

1 tsp of matcha powder

2-3 drops of stevia (optional)

1/2 cup boiling hot water

3/4 cup of coconut almond milk

1 Tbsp of coconut butter

how-to
  1. Add matcha powder, stevia, coconut butter, milk and boiling hot water in blender.
  2. Blend on high for 1 minute.
  3. Pour into your favorite mug and enjoy!

That’s it!

Let me know how you make your matcha latte and if you add anything else! I’ve heard of other people adding collagen protein. Has anyone tried this?
