We’ve all heard of the self-fulfilling prophecy.
“I’m going to fail this test,” you say, and because you think that’s the case, your results come back the way you assumed they would. But the great thing about this concept is that it works the other way, too. If you tell yourself you’re the best, you simply will be.
Although the scientific research is advancing, it’s unclear yet just how much potential is waiting to be unlocked in our brains. But one thing is clear -The human brain is a powerful machine. Take the placebo effect, for example. Your brain convinces itself it’s receiving actual medicine and astoundingly – you get better. Sometimes even better than people taking the real medicine. Through this we’ve learned that positive thoughts do lead to positive outcomes. We can influence our lives merely by changing the way we talk to ourselves about it. This isn’t magical – it’s science. As you go about your week, make sure that you’re keeping that inner voice in check – don’t let it say things to you that you wouldn’t say to others. Play nice! You’ll reap the rewards in the way the world starts to respond to your positivity. If you need help, don’t be afraid to remind yourself! Hang positive affirmations on your mirror, by your door, any place you’ll see them! Let them remind you that you’re the kind of person who creates success no matter where you go.
